Our Industrial Services team are recruiting an HSQE Assistant for permanent work in Greater Manchester starting in January. 

Job Details:

  • Principle Role: Coordinate and assist with all matters pertaining to HSQE.

  • Start date: January 2024

  • Duration: Permanent Role

  • Location: Saddleworth, Greater Manchester

  • Working Hours: 0900 -1700 5 x day per week (additional hours worked to facilitate the business)

  • Relevant industry background (oil & gas, petrochemical, fuels, chemical processing, construction, infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing etc).

Skills:

  • Able to work under own initiative, alone as well as part of a wider team to achieve company goals and maintain best practice.

  • Proactively look for ways to improve existing business systems and maintain compliance.

  • Ability to articulate and form persuasive arguments to promote safety best practices.

  • Computer literate.

Overview:

  • Support the upkeep of the company’s management systems including ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and NHSS19a.

  • Assist in the upkeep of the company’s accreditations, approvals, and online profiles.

  • Assist in obtaining new accreditations and approvals as required.

  • Support accident/incident investigation, reporting and follow up.

  • Maintain various HSQE related registers and folders such as accidents, incidents, near miss, non-conformances, complaints, subcontractor/suppliers’ appraisals, controlled forms, COSHH, Legal, PUWER, LOLER, DSE, PAT, calibration, training/competency matrix, face fits etc. Also trend analysis and reporting.

  • Perform workshop and site HSQE inspections and reporting.

  • Audit and assist sites to ensure compliance with legal, industry and internal best practices.

  • Remain on top of relevant regulations & legislation governing our practices and advise the board of Directors accordingly of any changes, non-compliance etc.

  • Issue safety bulletins, create new toolbox talks, policies, procedures etc.

  • Review/preparation of RAMS, Rescue Plan, CPP, HSQE Plan, Environmental management plan, Quality plan, Inspection Test Plan etc.

  • Prepare COSHH Assessments.

  • Conduct gap analyses against accreditation criteria.

  • Ensure paperwork is being correctly completed on sites e.g., PPE issue forms, workforce engagement forms, HAVS forms, Daily Equipment inspection forms, POWRAs etc.

  • Promote safe working culture within the business and workforce.

  • Lead internal & external HSQE audits.

  • Championing good safety practices on site.

  • Lead HSQE Committee activity.

  • Advise on HSQE matters and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH / Degree in Health & Safety / compliance or equivalent.

  • Member of IOSH

  • Lead auditor cert / experience
