Position:
The Electrical Engineering Team Project Engineer is responsible for leading and managing an assigned design team. This role plays a key part in ensuring design quality, technical accuracy, and the professional development of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Team, including workload planning, Team resourcing, and delivery performance.
- Actively participate in document creation (drawings, calculations, studies, reports) relevant to the Project, ensuring proper inputs are acquired in a timely manner
- Assign and coordinate design tasks to Electrical Engineers to ensure timely completion in line with project milestones.
- Oversee and approve engineering drawings and documents prior to issue, ensuring compliance with project and industry standards.
- Ensure strong collaboration with the Civil, Mechanical, and BIM teams to support coordinated, multi-disciplinary delivery.
- Support the career development of the Team members, ensuring training needs are identified and CPD (Continued Professional Development) is actively maintained.
- Organise and chair weekly design team meetings to track project progress and ensure alignment across the team.
- Attend regular Engineering Leadership meetings and ensure effective communication of key updates and decisions back to your team.
Key Requirements:
- Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering (Level 8 or equivalent) desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role with an Electrical contractor
- Proficiency in design software such as DigiSilent, ETAP, EPLAN, PSCAD, Cymcap, Cableizer, and AutoCAD.
- Proven people management skills with experience developing and mentoring engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational ability.
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving skills, and commitment to high standards.
