Our Industrial Services team are recruiting 2 Paint Supervisors for work in Plymouth starting ASAP.

Job Details:

  • Start date: ASAP
  • Location: Plymouth, Devonport Dockyard
  • Rates: £17.02, OT1 £22.13 OT2 £27.23
  • Hours: 10 hours Mon – Thurs, 6 hours Fri, Sat, Sun
  • Duration: Ongoing
  • Must provide CVs and have 12 months+ experience

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Accountable for carrying out the following Daily Activities:

  • Check all operatives are wearing the correct PPE for allocated tasks and that they are “Fit for Purpose”
  • All New Joiners to the project have signed onto all the RAMs associated with the evolutions that could be undertaken whilst working on the project.
  • All New Joiners have been briefed on the importance of the “T” card and Emergency Instructions/Procedures are known and understood.
  • Inexperienced operatives are placed with an experienced operator (Buddy System) until they have site layout knowledge and have gained confidence.   
  • Task Assessment has been conducted and that the allocated personnel have a Daily brief/Instruction to Work.
  • That all operatives complete a POWRA prior to commencing work.
  • That the “Notice of Disruption Log” is completed prior to the end of the working day
  • Daily Allocation Sheets are completed correctly

Supervising and coordinating activities of painting operatives engaged in:

  • Preparation of steel substrates for coating, including mechanical, vacuum, and open blasting.
  • Applying protective coats of paint to exterior or interior surfaces relative to the project work packages.
  • Operatives supplied with tools, equipment, and the necessary materials to maintain productivity and preventing wastage and misuse of equipment, materials and tools. 

Enforcing strict compliance with all QA/QC and Safety procedures, plus all Company rules and regulations.

With this role you will have to undergo the following:

  • Drug and alcohol testing as part of induction
  • Candidates working in the dockyard must complete a DBS check which we will assist with 
  • Candidates working inside the dockyard must complete a basic personnel security standard check, which we will assist with
  • Must be clean shaven for face fits
